EY WAVESPACE
UI & UX / DESIGN / PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY / WORKSHOP ENVIRONMENT
EY wavespace is an innovation hub for EY’s clients whereby a small and agile team of facilitators and UX designers develop a workshop(s) based in human-centered design. The team and I worked with internal and client partners to help shape collaborative workshops that would work towards solving complex topics for EY‘s clients, ranging from regional to global scales.
GPS DUBAI 2024
Workshop Design / Visual Design / Photography / Collaborative Environment
ILLUSTRATOR / WIX / PPT
Purpose: The GPS workshop brought 20 global EY (public sector) partners together to collaboratively shape a strategy to better serve their respective government clients and be effective as a global EY team. EY wavespace was flown to Dubai to help host and facilitate this two-day workshop.
Role: As a small team of three people; I took on multiple hats and dove into the event logistical planning, equipment booking (incl. delivery), and creating a visual identity along with a campaign website to help ground the workshop with a sense of place reminiscent of Dubai. I was also the photographer of the event and set up the collaboration environment.
Visual identity: I took inspiration from the fronds of the Palm in Dubai from which the event was held at, and created a motif (right) that would become the visual identity of the event and be seen in the website and teaser campaign content.
Campaign website: In the months to weeks leading up to the workshop I created a website (via WIX) for the participants to access and receive updates, reminders and generate a bit of buzz in the lead up to the event day.
Collaborative environment: The event was held in a hotel conference room and required bespoke collaborative infrastructure to enable an effective environment. This resulted in a thorough research of local suppliers and fortunately I was able to secure custom whiteboards that contributed significantly to the success of the two-day event.
DATA STRATEGY & CUSTOMER JOURNEYS
UI / UX / Videography & Post-Production
ILLUSTRATOR / PREMIERE PRO / MURAL / FIGMA
Purpose: Over five weeks preparation and a four-day workshop, EY wavespace worked with a team of senior leadership from a major NZ bank to answer the question: ‘How might the bank work, now and next, to make more out of their data for staff and customers?’
Role: While working closely with the bank’s marketing team and our resident illustrator, I created a visual identity for the workshop that was in-line with their brand guidelines. I also documented the workshop through photography and videography to accompany the final output.
Customer Journeys: The bank’s leaders needed to understand the various ways that their customers interact with the bank. EY wavespace worked with existing data to portray a series of journey maps - ‘Meet Emily’ is one such example which we took a step further and recorded “Emily’s” voice narrating her experience joining the bank as a new customer.

Pick your Journey: We took the standard customer journeys a step further and created a digital deck of cards for each customer in Mural. I worked closely with our illustrator to ensure we walked the thin-line of staying within the bank’s brand and creating our own bespoke imagery. We loaded the final set of cards on a touchscreen display for a more interactive experience for participants to explore during the workshop.
Workshop re-cap: Utilising a Canon R6 and DJI gimbal, I was able to effectively capture the four-day event as well as conduct post-workshop interviews with key stakeholders thanks to the help of team members who scripted the questions necessary to collect meaningful responses.

SPACETECH
UI & Illustration
ILLUSTRATOR / FIGMA
Purpose: A (virtual) client workshop to explore and brainstorm the many natural disaster scenarios that occur and the role(s) that Space Tech would play in prevention, disaster relief and search and rescue.
Role: I created the visual canvas from which the workshop activities would be based in and collaborated with another visual designer to build out the final board complete with workshop activities.
Workshop canvas: Knowing that the workshop would be covered in a series of ‘stages’ and wanting to keep within the ‘space’ theme, I brought the concept of atmospheric layers into the canvas and structured the visual flow of the workshop off this. This allowed for participants to navigate the board themselves based off the coloured sections. The canvas was first built in Illustrator and then transferred into Figma for collaborative development with another designer. The final was brought into Mural.
Scenarios: I also created ‘before, during and after’ natural disaster scenarios as GIFs and placed these in the canvas as prompts for conversation.
CLIENT SESSION OBSERVATION (CSO)
Project review and teaming
TEAMS / MURAL / FIGMA
Purpose: As a group of (mostly remote) designers in a corporate environment, it was easy to feel individually siloed. This lead to ‘Client Session Observations’ aka CSO; a monthly show and tell that enabled us to connect, learn and be in the loop about what we were all working on + where we could help.
Role: I hosted these monthly calls and created an online project- review-board initially in Mural and then Figjam.
Project reviews: Each designer filled out the template I created and presented this to the team in the monthly call. Each section of the template addressed different aspects of the project and asked development questions such as ‘What could we do differently?’.
Bringing a team together: CSO brought ALL the designers together in an effort to include everyone who might be siloed, celebrate each other’s work and to foster more connections between individuals. It was important to not take this call as serious as the title might sound, most of the time it was a place to laugh and to listen and feel heard.
COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Human environment design
Purpose: Over my five years at EY wavespace I developed a passion for shaping the physical workshop environment to help support and foster more collaborative interactions between participants. I took the lead on creating my own system in place to plan and execute each design for the respective workshop.
Role: I developed floor-plans of EY wavespace that would help inform the layout of furniture, technology and collaborative movement. I would set this up before the workshop took place and maintain a tidy and organised environment as well as shift the layout according to the activity and participant needs.
