AUCKLAND ART GALLERY TOI O TAMAKI

GRAPHIC DESIGN / EDITORIAL / SIGNAGE / MARKETING

During my time as a graphic designer at AAG I was a part of the marketing team working closely with the lead designer, editor and respective curator on each Gallery exhibition. This was an enriching time for me as a designer gaining invaluable experience in a cross-functional team within the arts.

Editorial & Printed Media

INDESIGN

Purpose: Printed media was common with the Gallery visiting experience and you could expect to see a consistent adherence to the Gallery brand guidelines in each product.

Role: I worked closely with the lead designer and editor for each publication with multiple proofing rounds before I sent each document to print.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE, EDM & SOCIAL MEDIA

Marketing

ILLUSTRATOR / PHOTOSHOP / MAILCHIMP

Purpose: Each internal department, from Foundation to general Members had a distinct digital presence. This meant the marketing team juggled a diverse workload, crafting bespoke electronic mail newsletters and engaging social media content.

Role: Following AAG brand guidelines and pre-existing layouts, I updated EDMs and social media content for each department and exhibition respectively.

Digital Signage: I produced promotional content for the Galleries screens, each with their own unique screen ratio.

Email banners: Within small digital media such as EDMs, I would often find the biggest challenge to be the effective placement of background imagery in relation to text. This offered creative solutions to the limited size and text that I had to work with.
